ADVERTISEMENT OF VACANCT POSTS

Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation (KFIC) is a body Corporate established vide Section 3 (1) of the State Corporations Act, Cap. 446 (Legal Notice No. 214 of 23rd November 2018 and Legal Notice No. 110 of 22nd May 2020). Its mandate is to exploit fishery resources in Kenya fishery waters and high seas by promoting establishment and efficiency of business engaged in the fishing and fishing related activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Attending to visitors/clients;
  2. Handling telephone calls and enquiries;

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Develop supply chain targeted and a forecasted procurement plan which integrates in the

annual Corporation operationalized budgeting.

  1. Maintain and continuously update standing lists of registered tenderers required by the

procuring entity through continuous registration of eligible suppliers, and suppliers on

framework agreements.

  1. Prepare, publish and distribute procurement and disposal plans including invitations to

tender documents and invitation for expression of interest.

  1. Coordinate the receiving and opening of tender documents.
  2. Maintain and safeguard procurement and disposal documents and records in accordance

with the regulation.

  1. Issue invitations for bids through quotations restricted tendering or open tendering.
  2. Prepare consolidated procurement and disposal plans.
  3. Process procurement requirements from user departments.
  4. Prepare and process tender documents and quotations in consultation with user departments

in compliance with procurement procedures.

  1. Prepare contract documents in line with the award decision.
  2. Order, follow-up, or process goods/service delivery schedules.
  3. Perform market research and price survey on items and services required by the

Corporation.

  1. Acquire, maintain and dispose assets including equipment and accessories necessary for the

capture, preservation, processing, selling and marketing of fish, fish products and other

marine resources

  1. Establish and maintain an inventory of assets

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Develop, review and implement policies, procedures and strategies relating to Human

  3. Manage occupational safety and health of the employees;
  4. Develop, Implement and monitor the Corporation’s staff training policy;

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Assist in production planning and management
  2. Ensuring all operations comply with relevant environmental and safety regulations.
  3. Assist in data collection and reporting
  4. Support inventory management
  5. Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards of production
  6. Support training and development of production staff
  7. Ensure correct and timely production of all quality control reports

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
  2. Reporting any mechanical/accident problems; and
  3. Ensuring proper working condition of the vehicle.
  4. Cleanliness of Vehicles;
  5. Identify and report defects of Vehicle;
  6. Transportation of staff on official duties;
  7. Delivery of mails, cheques and any other official messages;
  8. Picking and drop of Official KFIC visitors, offer Support and

security of their Luggage;

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • At least served in the grade of Driver for at least four (4) years;
  • At least a mean grade D+ (plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  • The Occupational Trade Test II Certificate;
  • Valid driving license free from any current endorsements(s) for classes of the vehicles the driver is required to drive;
  • Certificate of Good Conduct (renewable after two (2) years);
  • First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. Johns Ambulance or any other recognized institution; and
  • An accident-free driving period of three (3) years.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Preparation of monthly vessels arrival and departure;
  2. Report on monthly Jetty operations;
  3. Supervision of water and Electricity supply to vessels;
  4. Maintenance of vessels register;
  5. Coordination of vessels movement and other berth operations;
  6. Ascertaining of all cargo manifest and crew list;
  7. Liaising with finance office on days of vessels stay at berth for calculation of revenue;
  8. Ensuring timely circulation of Corporation and Committee papers

in liaison with relevant departments (Finance, Technical and HR);

  1. Taking minutes of the Board and its committee;
  2. Maintaining and updating the register of conflicts of interest;
  3. Except in exceptional circumstances, ensure that Corporation and

Committee papers are circulated in advance of any meeting.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree;
  • Proficiency in computer applications;
